JONES'S PLAYER PROFILES

Richard Jones – Manager – Re-joined the club from Eccleshall (Twice SCSL champion 2001-03) and took over as manager following several injury plagued seasons. Was part of The Vine’s (Stone) Staffs Sunday Cup winner’s side in 1999 but was lucky to play in the Cup Final following a rash, dirty, ugly tackle by an un-named player during the previous week’s semi-final. Remember that Bucko?

Craig Atkinson
– Assistant Manager – ‘Acko’ is a very astute, talented football coach who is working well below his level - compliment. A member of the Ant Hill mob (wacky races) fan club, who would do anything for 3 points. It’s about time someone took him up on his offer to chin him! Show some ******** lads!

Paul Darlington – ‘Darlo’ is still learning his trade. An excellent shot stopper but needs to be more confident and show people how good he actually is and not be bothered about what they think. Another current ‘Oulton Triangle’ training run record holder!

Tim Buckley – Experienced, ex-pro at Port Vale. ‘Bucko’ joined the club after transferring from Eccleshall. Twice captain of Eccleshall’s back to back SCSL Premier Championship and Staffs Vase winners team from 2001-03 having previously been part of Stafford Town’s West Midlands League championship team. Remember that tackle?

Dan Rainford – Hardcore, greying SOA defender of over 250 appearances who already has an eye on his testimonial. Twice joined Eccleshall but soon returned to the Alleynes. Was part of The Vine’s (Stone) Staffs Sunday Cup winners side in 1999. Club captain who likes his annual Xmas parties.

Lee Bailey – Member of Eccleshall’s first SCSL Championship team in 2002 but didn’t stick around to get the second medal. In fact, he probably didn’t get the first medal after going AWOL when the going got tough! Well known for his Friday night binge sessions. Recently joined the club (he had no choice really, after Brian’s persistency) from Brocton. We’re very pleased to have got him at last.

Gareth Hardwick –
Recently joined the club from Brocton and quickly established himself as the fastest player. Mind you, he was paired with Malc!

Chris Johnson – Proper clubman who is unfortunately away at University for large parts of the season. Still not discarded as many pairs of boots as his Dad did or coined as many legendary phrases whilst under pressure at the back such as, “Oh Rich, just **** it off”.

Chris Hall – Young defender recently joined the club from Brocton. We are pleased to have acquired his services as other clubs were interested. Just needs to be more vocal and command the team more from the back.

Kenny Barton – A member of the only family in Yarnfield, not to have acquired an ASBO. That takes some doing! Dubbed ‘The Coach’, Kenny recently joined the club from UEFAB FC.

Wayne Chadwick –
‘Chad’ recently rejoined the club after acquiring a SCSL medal with Barlaston last season. Apparently he scored against us??? Anyone remember??? Wayne recently obtained a 4ft wide bronze gong on the Wales trip. Why? Wayne hails from Newstead.

Sam Fox
– Unfortunately not THE Sam Fox, but this Sam will do for us, although he is not adverse to making the odd boob or two! Versatile defender who is very consistent. We would love Sam to one day say “Right, I’m going to be the best player on this park” so we could see him at his best because there is so much more to get out of him. Well known for not paying his subs at training.

Malcolm Gardner
Without doubt, the slowest player to have ever laced a pair of football boots, Malc seems to have re-invented himself in Sunday football as a centre forward.

Kev Bailey – Another recent Brocton recruit, Kev is already demonstrating the dedication and commitment that’s required to become clubman of the season. (Watch out Dale!)

Dean Buckley – Unbelievably, Dean prefers to work on a Saturday than play football! We just wish he could play more often.

Dale Kinnersley – ‘Model pro’ Dale recently joined from Eccleshall. Twice a key player in Eccleshall’s back to back SCSL Premier Championship and Staffs Vase winners team from 2001-03. Dale played over 500 games for ‘Eccy’. Speed is a word not normally associated with the Kinnersley family, but not wanting to get outdone by his Dad, Dale is looking much sharper these days.

Paul Hollins -
Twice a key player in Eccleshall’s back to back SCSL Premier Championship and Staffs Vase winners team from 2001-03. Re-joined the club over the summer after ten years in exile. Paul faces a constant battle with his weight, topping the scales at a whopping 16 stone this summer. When told that WAGS were invited to the end of season do, he replied that he couldn’t bring both!

Mark Fox – Established midfielder who includes Foley as his ex-club. Claim to fame was scoring for Foley versus ‘Eccy’ before going on to get hammered 6-1. Box-to-box player (6 yard to 18 yard box that is) who wins his fair share of battles. Needs to ‘chip in’ with more goals. Mark is responsible for the club tracksuits……
Back to the top

Andy Hulme – Hard working midfielder who wins the majority of his battles but now needs to net more goals. The only non-Alleynian in the club. Currently penning a novel about how to get from Stone to Hanley after a skinfull.

Club announcement
– Football club desperately seeks translator for foreign import. ‘eeh bah gum’, flat caps, tin baths full of coal, yes this is the player profile of one Dave Beachill, Barnsley born and bred.

Tim Hough – Pacey winger Tim is in his 6th season at Alleynes. Top scorer last season looking to find his scoring boots once more this season. Current record holder for the ‘Oulton Triangle’ training run of  7 min 55 seconds.

Alex Bird – New left winger (position, not political beliefs) who joined club this season. Was part of The Vine (Stone) Staffs Sunday Cup winners side in 1999.

Andy Lipscomb – ‘Lippo’ can be as good as he wants to be, a match winner even. Just needs more confidence and start to become more dominant. A Man.Utd season ticket holder who lets us know every Saturday when we get called off
Back to the top

Adam Johns –
How unfit? This excellent young player seems to like punishing himself to extreme levels. Adam nearly got left behind last season, at Featherstone Prison FC of all places, after being spotted at the last second throwing up in the corner of the cage that we’d played in, just before it was locked!

Michael Perry – ‘Pez’ recently rejoined the club following a bout of arthritis and leading the line at Eccleshall (SCSL and Staffs Vase winner 2003) and Newcastle Town. Always first to training and known for his ability to suggest and set-up training run’s but somehow forget to turn up for them??? Top class forward locally, excellent in the air, with a lifetime membership of the mile high club!.

Jamie Riley
– Joined the club for the 2006/2007 season. Could be outstanding if he took his football seriously. Well known for his inability to head the ball and his unique match day attire – combats and hob-nail boots.

John Moore-Tabb – A proper goal poacher, vital to our team. Currently AWOL, if anyone sees him, tell him to get in touch……
Back to the top

Tom Horton
– Tom is possibly the best young forward in town but has no idea about it whatsoever. Huge potential.

Dan Kocyigit – Dan will definitely improve with age and time, he already has twelve goals for Stone Old Alleynains. Three for the first team and nine for the second team scored in the short time that he has been with us. A proven striker who knows where the goal is! Young Dan is a player who could play a big part in the clubs future.

Cliff Barton – The other member of the only family in Yarnfield not to have acquired an ASBO! Cliff is another young player with huge potential, he recently joined the club from UEFAB FC
